Low carbon heat consultancy

Our specialist consultants can provide services including feasibility studies and business planning to identify the right solution to meet the operational, regulatory and environmental requirements of our clients. This includes technology appraisal, techno-economic modelling and procurement support. We also provide technical heat network due diligence services for investors, asset owners and banks.

Heat networks

Our team are highly experienced with diagnosing heat network issues with biomass boilers and heat distribution through performance audits and technical reviews. We have worked with a significant number of clients to optimise the performance of their systems, such as large and complex district heating networks on multiple National Trust properties.

Forestry and Bioenergy

With decades of experience in the bioenergy sector and a team with roots in forestry and woodfuel supply chains, we have a unique combination of expertise to undertake resource studies, fuel procurement strategy, policy development (such as market research, strategy development, industry engagement, sectoral intelligence, and Economic Impact Assessments).

Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)

We have developed a considerable body of experience under the RHI support scheme and our consultancy team is experienced in multiple aspects of the RHI, including: registration of new systems, supporting clients with Ofgem audits, reviewing installations for RHI compliance, IRMA preparation, preparing and submitting extension applications, supporting clients with the metering simplification process, negotiating with Ofgem on clients’ behalf over disputes, and working with our engineering team on boiler moves and replacements.
