The owners of Thornton House, a Grade II listed Georgian period property, engaged Reheat to undertake the installation and subsequent service and maintenance of its biomass boiler system.

Located in rural Northumberland, the property, originally built in the 1770s, had already used biomass as its main source of heating for a number of years. However, its owners sought to update the existing, ageing system, as well as procure a reliable, local biomass service provider.
Despite considering alternative technologies such as heat pumps, the owners determined that this large, historic property was better suited to a high-efficiency biomass system to meet its modern heat demands.
As a result, Reheat presented a viable solution and undertook the installation of a 50kW ETA biomass boiler. The project was complicated by the rural location and estate layout, yet the system was successfully installed and paired with the property’s existing central heating system.
