Reheat Celebrates One Year as a B Corp and Releases Its First Impact Report

As Reheat marks its first anniversary as a certified B Corp, we take this opportunity to reflect on our journey, celebrate our achievements, and outline our ambitious plans for the future. With the release of our first annual B Corp Impact Report, we reaffirm our commitment to doing business with purpose—ensuring that our operations align with our mission to accelerate the transition to renewable heat and power while upholding ethical and sustainable business practices.

A Milestone Year: What B Corp Means to Reheat

From the beginning, Reheat has been dedicated to making a positive impact—not just through the services we provide but also in the way we conduct business. Becoming a B Corp was a natural step for us, as it holds us accountable to high social and environmental performance standards. Our Managing Director, Ben Tansey, encapsulates this ethos perfectly: “Do the right thing, in the right way.”

Our B Corp certification has given us a structured framework to measure and improve our impact across five key areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers. Over the past year, we have worked diligently to enhance our practices, recognising that this is an ongoing journey of improvement rather than a final destination.

Key Highlights from Our First B Corp Impact Report

Our impact report not only celebrates our progress but also identifies areas for growth. Some key highlights from the past year include:

  • Governance: We implemented a written Code of Ethics, increased financial transparency with our employees, and formalized a structured feedback and complaint process.
  • Workers: We introduced an enhanced employee review process, improved company benefits, and achieved an impressive 90%+ employee satisfaction rate.
  • Community: Over 75 hours of volunteer work were logged, a percentage of our revenue was donated to charity, and we reinforced our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in hiring.
  • Customers: We established a Quality Management Committee to enhance our services and explored new ways to measure customer satisfaction and outcomes.
  • Environment: We leveraged our office’s renewable energy sources, engaged with our landlord to improve waste management, and promoted sustainable commuting practices.

Looking Ahead: Goals for the Next Year

While we are proud of our achievements, we are determined to push forward. Our targets for the upcoming year include:

  • Improving our B Corp score to surpass 96 by advancing in all impact areas.
  • Enhancing governance through ethics-focused risk assessments and greater financial disclosures.
  • Strengthening employee involvement in decision-making processes.
  • Expanding our community engagement by increasing volunteering and charitable contributions.
  • Deepening our environmental efforts by reducing our carbon footprint and working towards sustainable workplace solutions.

As we mark our one-year anniversary as a B Corp, we are also proud to celebrate B Corp Month!
