We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded the Bronze Award as part of the Better Health at Work initiative, marking an important milestone in our commitment to promoting health and wellbeing in the workplace. This recognition reflects the dedicated efforts of our team to create a supportive and healthy environment for all employees.

The Better Health at Work Award (BHAWA) is a regional initiative that encourages businesses to improve the health and wellbeing of their employees by focusing on campaigns that raise awareness, encourage participation, and support healthier lifestyles. The Bronze Award is the first level of this initiative, and Reheat's achievement is a testament to the proactive steps our team has taken over the past year.

Health Campaigns and Activities

One of the key elements of the BHAWA is running health campaigns based on the specific needs of employees. Reheat organised a variety of initiatives throughout the year to promote better health, including:

  • Healthy Eating Week: This week-long campaign encouraged employees to explore healthy food options, offering in-office displays with samples of fruits, grains, and probiotics. The event sparked conversations about nutrition and provided educational materials to help staff make better dietary choices.
  • Stress and Mental Health Awareness: Reheat held events like International Stress Awareness Week and offered resources to support mental health. Notably, we invited a financial advisor in September for a "Lunch and Learn" session on financial wellbeing, which highlighted the link between financial stability and mental health.
  • Physical Activity: Reheat encouraged employees to stay active by hosting social events such as a tennis tournament and a summer cricket match. These activities not only promoted physical fitness but also strengthened social bonds among staff.

Employee Engagement and Wellbeing

Reheat has made it a priority to involve employees in all health-related initiatives, ensuring that the campaigns are inclusive and impactful. For example, the annual Health, Safety, and Wellbeing survey achieved a 100% response rate, demonstrating the commitment of our workforce to these initiatives. In addition, feedback from employees during and after events has been overwhelmingly positive. Comments from participants in Healthy Eating Week highlighted the educational nature of the campaign, with many employees expressing enthusiasm for more health-related events in the future.

One of the more unique aspects of Reheat’s approach to health and wellbeing is our focus on social value. By partnering with local organisations such as cricket and tennis clubs, we’ve been able to not only promote physical activity but also give back to the community.

The Road Ahead

While we are incredibly proud to have achieved the Bronze Award, this is just the beginning of our journey. Reheat is already planning more campaigns and activities that will continue to improve the health and wellbeing of our team. These include initiatives to raise awareness around mental health, stress management, and cancer prevention.

Our next goal is to work toward the Silver Award, which requires an even broader focus on health and wellbeing across the company. We look forward to continuing this journey, ensuring that our workplace remains a place where health and happiness are prioritised.

A Team Effort

This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication of our Health Advocates and the enthusiastic participation of our team. We are grateful to everyone who contributed to making these campaigns a success and to our local award coordinator at Northumberland County Council for their guidance throughout the process. As we move forward, Reheat remains committed to fostering a healthy workplace where every employee has the resources and support needed to thrive.
