Renewable Heat Incentive

Helping you to maximise and remain compliant with the RHI scheme.

While the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme is closed to new applicants, our team still works with clients to access and remain compliant with the RHI, whilst benefitting from its secondary market.

The UK Government’s Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme closed to new applicants in 2021, but its impact remains significant in terms of accessing low carbon heat funding.

Reheat has substantial experience of the RHI, working on the scheme since it was established in 2011, and to this day our team still support clients to access the scheme, and remain compliant with the industry regulator, Ofgem.

Our RHI services include:

Ready to Pass pre-audit assessment service

Our pre-audit offers a RHI compliance check against Ofgem’s scheme requirements. We help you prepare so you have everything you need to pass an Ofgem audit, including: Adherence with original applications, documentation, certification, heat meter, fuel records compliance and Biomass Suppliers List (BSL) support.

Heat meter recalibration and replacements

We provide recalibration checks and can advise on necessary replacements to remain compliant. Our engineers are highly adept at providing heat meter replacements, ensuring they are fitted correctly first time and there is no hold up. We also install heat meters that are compliant with Ofgem’s rules.

RHI support and Ofgem engagement

We support clients with meter readings, full compliance reporting, RHI amendments, submissions, and Ofgem engagement. We can also advise on your long-term low carbon heat strategy to ensure you have a system that remains efficient, cost effective and compliant.

Boiler Replacements

If you need to replace your RHI-accredited biomass boiler and wish to retain the existing tariff, you must submit a new RHI accreditation application following decommissioning. We manage the full process ensuring ongoing accreditation, compliance, and continued tariff support for the system.

Second Hand Boiler Sales

If you no longer need your RHI accredited biomass boiler due to changes in site use, heating demand, or business operations it may still hold value. RHI accredited boilers retain their tariff, meaning there’s a strong second-hand market for compliant systems.

Rather than leaving it unused, we can help you unlock its full potential by facilitating a compliant resale and ownership transfer to a new site. We manage the end-to-end process of selling, relocating, acquiring, and installing RHI accredited biomass boilers.
