Low carbon heat funding
With millions in funding secured directly for clients, we can help move your project forwards.
Finding and securing low carbon heat grants and funds.
Low carbon heat funding is often the key for your project to go ahead. Our clients benefit from our ability to source funding, check eligibility, and carry out applications. We also fulfil the work the funding was secured to deliver.
The funding landscape can often be vast, complex and hugely time consuming, which is where our experienced team can help you access the funding you need, without the pain often involved of navigating the process.
What’s more, because we are both a team of engineers and consultants, we typically deliver the work the funding was designed to enable. This ensures the funding is used in the right way, and gives you exactly the service you need to fulfil your project.
Our services include:
- Technical assessments to understand where funding is best applied
- Scoping low carbon heat funds and assessing eligibility
- Engaging with funding bodies or scheme administrators
- Carrying out funding applications
- Completing the works the funding has enabled
Examples of funding schemes we actively work with, include:
Heat Network Efficiency Scheme (HNES)
The Heat Network Efficiency Scheme is funded by UK Government to support performance improvements to existing district heating or communal heating projects. The fund is administered through Capital and Revenue grants, and to date, Reheat has secured over £7m in funding for clients through the scheme. We deliver heat network improvement works for clients through the scheme.
Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS)
Reheat can support clients to access the BUS for biomass system installations, with grants of £5,000 available for homes and small and medium non-domestic buildings. Reheat is an approved BUS installer and we are MCS Certified.
If the BUS is something you might benefit from, then speak to our team and we can go through the eligibility criteria with you. It is worth noting grants are available if your property is off the gas grid and in a rural location. Most new build properties are not eligible for the grant.
The BUS is administered by the UK Government.
Scotland’s Heat Network Fund
The Scottish Government’s Heat Network Fund is open for applications and offers capital support to develop and deliver heat network projects across Scotland.
Funding is available for new low or zero-emission heat networks, the expansion of existing systems using clean heat sources, and decarbonisation of current networks by replacing polluting heat sources.
Reheat specialise in helping organisations such as Scottish Estates navigate the funding process, from feasibility to delivery. Our team brings deep expertise in district heating systems and a strong track record of supporting rural low carbon heat projects.
Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)
Whilst the RHI is now closed to new applications, it is still very much part of an income stream for thousands of low carbon heat systems in the UK. It is administered by Ofgem, and there remains a number of obligations that recipients of the RHI must meet in order to remain compliant with the scheme.
Reheat provide services to ensure clients are in control and compliant with their RHI obligations. This includes pre-audit assessments, heat meter replacements and broader RHI support and Ofgem engagement.
