Heat Networks

Heat network regulation, funding, installation and optimisation.

Low carbon heat networks are one of the most efficient and cost effective ways to decarbonise.

A heat network supplies heat from a central, ideally low carbon, source to users via hot water through underground pipes. This can be across a large area, such as a town or city, or a smaller more localised cluster of properties, such as estates, holiday parks or farms.

At Reheat, we deliver low carbon heat network services from consultation, regulation and funding, to design, installation, optimisation and control systems.

Heat network design and installation

We are highly experienced and qualified designers, installers and project managers, responsible for delivering a huge number of heat network projects, often for challenging sites locations and applications.

We also install state-of-the-art energy centres to house low carbon heat systems, as well as modern control systems to allow users to manage their heat and associated costs.

Heat network optimisation

We deliver improvements to failing and underperforming low carbon heat networks through auditing of the generation plant and heat network infrastructure, identifying of the root cause of performance issues and quantifying their impacts. We develop remedial proposals for long-term heat network improvement plans, and provide clients with a redesign and clear outline of practical steps to resolve any issues identified.

Heat network efficiency improvements

We manage ongoing programmes to improve efficiency through a data-led approach using remote monitoring and incremental upgrades. Our proven approach has helped clients to significantly improve delta Ts, lower flow temperatures and improve network control. For example, in affordable housing projects, we have helped to move hundreds of residents to controllable metered heating, reducing heat costs, as well as dramatically reducing CO2 emissions.

Heat network regulations

Our team are ready to help you understand the implications of UK regulations for your project and how your network will be monitored, audited and remain compliant with governing body, Ofgem. In addition, we provide technical guidance based on best practice recognised by industry, such as CP1: Heat Networks: Code of Practice for the UK.

Heat network funding

We have been extremely succesful in securing funding for clients through schemes such as the Heat Network Efficiency Scheme (HNES), with subsequent project delivery on projects that the funding has enabled. Speak with our consultancy team to assess your project and its suitability for a funding application.
