Welcome aboard Andrew Nixon and Penny Stewart – new members of the re:heat team.

Following an excellent 2012, the re:heat team is expanding. We’d like to welcome aboard Andrew and Penny, the newest members of the re:heat team. Andrew Nixon brings a wealth of biomass experience and will be predominantly working on a range of tasks from system design through to overseeing installations and providing consultancy work. Andew will also be providing assistance with RHI applications and supporting our network of installation partners across the North of England. Penny Stewart is re-writing re:heat’s policies and procedures and ensuring we have strong customer support systems in place – vital tasks for the level of service we offer to our clients. We welcome both aboard and look forward to the exciting times ahead in the wood fuel sector.

NE Business

NE Business featured an article about why using wood as a fuel can help farm businesses to prosper. Written following an interview with Ben Tansey of re:heat, the article gives an introduction to how a farm can make money by off-setting expensive oil and LPG bills through selling wood grown from within the farm, and by looking at selling heat from woodfuel to tenants.

re:heat Speaking at Greenbuild Expo

re:heat will be exhibiting and speaking at Greenbuild Expo again this year, and as in 2012, we’ll be contributing two presentations to the Ignition conference. The first, on Wednesday 8th May, will detail the process of selecting, designing and constructing a high-duty 999kW wood-fired boiler installation in one of the remotest parts of the UK, while Thursday’s presentation will explore the complex world of woodfuel storage and how to get it right. Ignition 2013 is part of Greenbuild Expo, and takes place on 8th and 9th of May.

Neil Speaking at Soil Association Event

Neil will be speaking at a Soil Association event in Leven, Fife on the 4th of December 2012. Trees: A Valuable Resource, is a practical day looking at trees: from planting and pruning to processing; how to manage existing woodland; opportunities for selling wood and wood fuel, and what you need to know to successfully procure a wood-fired boiler.

Funded by the Scottish Government via the Scottish Rural Development Programme, the day is primarily aimed at farmers and woodland owners who are looking to make the most from their existing timber resource.

Neil will be speaking alongside Mike Strachan and David Bruce from Forestry Commission Scotland, and will be helping those attending the sold out event to understand the practicalities and economic case for the 100kW boiler installation on Durie Farm, which will also be visited during the day.

More details on the event can be found on the Soil Association website.
