The surge in demand for domestic and industrial wood-fired boilers triggered the investment by Schiedel in their HETAS approved training centre, which will equip heating engineers and technicians from across the country to meet the growing demand.
Schiedel, the UK’s leading manufacturer of chimneys, now offer training on solid fuel and wood-fired appliances, and trainees will be supported through from learning about the fuel to installing boilers and offering advice on maintenance.
The company is one of only nine bases in the UK to offer this type of training, and the only site in the Northern half of the country.
David Wright, Marketing Manager at Schiedel said: “It is hugely important that anyone considering fitting a wood-fired boiler of any type, employs a qualified installer.
“So we have specifically launched these courses to meet the needs of this growing sector of the market.
“By doing so we are ensuring that we have qualified technicians who have passed an approved course using the latest in wood boiler technology”.
The centre features an ETA SH log boiler and highly automated PU pellet boiler, coupled with a Schellinger pellet mole – one of the first installed in the UK. The fuel store also features a Delox automatic level sensor, supplied by Forever Fuels, who are also the pellet supplier to the project.
re:heat worked with Schiedel through every step of the process, from helping them select the boilers and ancillary equipment, through to designing the layout and hydraulic arrangement. We oversaw the installation of the entire system, and now use the first rate training facilities for a range of technical seminars and updates for our installer network.
