The Domestic RHI Launch

After several years of waiting, the domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) has been launched. This is great news, particularly for those living off the gas grid who are forced to heat their homes with high cost oil, LPG or electricity. The Guardian chose an installation by Thermatech – one of re:heat’s installation partners – to feature as their case study on the day of the launch of the domestic RHI. Tony Graham’s log boiler has been installed for a year, and will now be eligable for payments under the domestic RHI scheme.

Earlier this week, the regulations setting out how the domestic Renewable Heat Incentive will be run were signed into law. This effectively means the first applications can be submitted to Ofgem for doemstic payments under the RHI. We expect the demand for domestic wood fired boilers will increase steadily over the coming months and years, as the advantages offered by the technology becomes better understood by customers and installers. At re:heat, we are already seeing increasing numbers of installers placing a high value on the support we offer and the high quality equipment we supply.

More information on the Domestic RHI can be found on the Ofgem website.
